Instruction in the judo program will cover basic and advanced techniques and skill development tailored mainly for recreational participants. Mondays will emphasize newaza (mat techniques) and Wednesdays will focus on tachiwaza (standing techniques). There will also be static and dynamic uchikomi (reps) and light randori (free practice) to develop the necessary judo skills and physical fitness in an enjoyable manner for all. The Kata and gokyo (techniques) instruction will prepare participants for advancement to the various levels of judo ranking. There will be some element of competitive instruction, but the main focus will be on recreational judo as a lifetime sport to enjoy. No class Aug 3. JUDO COORDINATOR: SENSEI MOE OYE-KUDAN (9th DAN).
